Wheelie Bin & Drum Rotator, Railway Infrastructure specialists

When a leading Railway Infrastructure specialist addressed the issue of productivity & efficiency with their garbage disposal, they contacted Action Handling for their expertise. Following a detailed consultation with the client at Head Office, it was identified that workmen were experiencing difficulty when disposing of garbage/waste and manoeuvring drums using a standard Bin/Drum Rotator. A bespoke model was designed for fabrication and as a result of its success multiple bulk orders are being maintained across the UK.

Access Platform with Extra Raised Height, Leading High-street Retailer

Facing a number of height-related challenges on the shop floor (i.e. light-bulb changes and stock replenishment), a Major High Street Retailer approached Action Handling to design the solution. This came in the form of a bespoke Access Platform with an extra raised height. As per the customers specification, it was compliant to all relative Health & Safety regulations and was 100% compatible with all Fork Lifts currently used onsite.

Four Fork Attachment – Specialist Joinery Manufacturer

Action Handling Equipment Ltd were contracted by a specialist Joinery Manufacturer to assist during a large-scale project for the London Olympics site. The requirement was to design and supply a Fork Truck attachment that would be better suited to the environment whilst transporting various materials, ranging from palleted goods to loose objects.

Aluminium Materials Lifter – Heathrow Airport, London

Working on behalf of a major building contractor during a large-scale refurbishment project at London’s Heathrow Airport, Action Handling Equipment Ltd were engaged to design and manufacture a bespoke Materials Lifter. This would be a multi-functional device with numerous optional accessories, fully compliant with all Health & Safety regulations and lightweight for ease-of-use.

Pallet Cage with Skid Base – Leading UK Chocolate Manufacturer 

Following an onsite risk assessment, one of the UK’s leading Chocolate Manufacturers sought the expertise of Action Handling increase Health & Safety compliance within their storage facilities.  The issue being that when not in use, most Pallet Cages would be stored on pallet beam racking with nothing to secure them in place.  This proved extremely hazardous especially when stored above ground with personnel working underneath.  Having consulted with the site manager, Action Handling were able to design and manufacture a bespoke Pallet Cage to ensure that it would nest securely with an anti-slip material to prevent accidents.

Fully-Electric, Rough-Terrain Pallet Truck – London Olympics site

Having noticed a fall in productivity during work on the London Olympics site, a Major Building Contractor brought in Action Handling to discuss a solution.  The requirement was simply to improve and accelerate the ability to transport multiple pallets of heavy goods across uneven terrain onsite.  A Director from Action Handling arranged to meet with Site Manager for a consultation and physical walkthrough on location.  Once they had confirmed the average quantity, size, weight and frequency of goods transported across site per working day a solution was proposed.  Action Handling designed and supplied 2 x bespoke, fully-electrical Pallet Trucks which would dramatically reduce the effort & time required from the user. Therefore maximising the usage as well as eliminating the issue of uneven ground with the heavy-duty, rough-terrain casters.

Pedestrian Barrier System – Leading Utilities Contractor

Working on behalf of a leading Utilities Contractor during an update of their Health & Safety standards on two UK sites, Action Handling Equipment Ltd were engaged to design and manufacture a bespoke hand-railing system for use both inside the warehouse and outside the main goods-in entrance.

Loading Bay Canopies – Leading Mailing Equipment supplier

Action Handling Equipment Ltd were contracted by the UK & Europe’s leading Mailing Equipment Supplier to assist during a large-scale transformation of their Manufacturing facility based in Loughton, Essex. The requirement was to design and supply two weather-proof Loading Bay Canopies for use when loading & unloading goods within the warehouse area.

Shelf Trolley – Major High Street Convenience Store

Action Handling Equipment Ltd were awarded a contract to design a multi-functional Shelf Trolley for a Major High Street Convenience Store Group. The finished product was customised to hold 3 trays with 50x50mm mesh welded walls and a base of water resistant phenolic covered timber, sitting on 4 x 100mm non-marking swivel rubber castors. The primary modification came with the implementation of Hinged Sides on each tray which allowed them to drop down and greatly increase its ease-of-use when loading or unloading multiple items. Prototypes were supplied for evaluation and approval in the first instance, then the required total quantity were manufactured and distributed directly to the customers individual store locations.

Nesting Basket Trolley – Leading High Street Retailer

Action Handling Equipment Ltd were engaged by a leading High Street Retailer to design and manufacture a Basket Trolley for use during order picking and transportation of awkward items. There was also the issue of economical storage of such equipment in the back-office. Action Handling took a unique specification from the customer and then designed and manufactured a bespoke Nesting Trolley with two Baskets. Both baskets were constructed with drop-down or fold-up hinges to allow for multiple options of usage and also offered minimal storage when not in use.

Nesting Trolley with Folding Basket Tray – Leading Convenience Store Group

A leading Convenience Store Group appointed Action Handling Equipment Ltd to create a solution which would accelerate shelf-replenishment on the shop floor whilst maximising economical storage in the back-office. A meeting with the customer’s Head Office was arranged to discuss a detailed specification and reasons why current equipment was not suitable. Action Handling were then able to design a suitable Nesting Trolley with a Folding Basket Tray which would not only manoeuvre swiftly through the shop-floor, but would also slot neatly together, taking up minimal space, when not in use. The design was approved, Prototypes were supplied for evaluation, then the bulk quantity was manufactured and supplied within 6 weeks.

Gas Cylinder Storage – NHS Hospital, Hertfordshire

Working with an NHS Hospital in Hertfordshire, Action Handling were engaged to design and manufacture a storage solution for its gas cylinder bottles onsite. For this type of product, the core objective was to keep all gas cylinder bottles in a secure and well-ventilated storage unit. Action Handling were able to design & manufacture a bespoke, fully-welded, storage cage which was then delivered within 15 days, complying with all relevant H&S regulations.

Mobile Access Platform – Car roof box manufacturer

We have recently supplied a bespoke, fully-welded, mobile steel access platform for a leading car roof box manufacturer. This was following a health & safety issue onsite, concerning the loading and unloading of vehicles at its warehouse. Whilst fully complying with health & safety regulations, the experienced sales representative from Action Handling visited the site to observe the operation and recommended a safe and cost effective solution to the problem.

Temporary Steel Buildings – London Crossrail Project 

We have recently supplied bespoke, temporary steel buildings for the London Crossrail project. The buildings range from small / medium sizes used for Secure Storage Units, up to large sizes used for Fitters Workshops and Larger Storage Facilities. We supply the buildings in kit-form for self erection, or we can undertake the installation ourselves by our own erection teams.
